The story of neighborhood church

________________________________________

Neighborhood Church was originally planted by Albany First Assembly of God (now Hope Church) over 50 years ago from Pastor R.E. Book’s vision to provide additional vibrant ministry to the south end of the community of Albany. Originally opening as Evangel Assembly on 34th Street in 1968, the church was blessed to have countless men, women and families invest in the vision God had for this community. The church was renamed New Life Center in the late 70s and later moved from 34th Street to the south end of Columbus Street, eventually becoming Oak Creek Christian Center. Finally, several years ago, after years of prayer and with the desire to move back into town to better serve the community, the church moved to its current location at 2815 Pine St. and became Neighborhood Church.

Over its nearly 55-year history, Neighborhood Church has been blessed to have been led and supported by incredible men and women of God including: Pastor Hubert Book, Pastor Mike Hodges, Pastor Garry Siegenthaler, Pastor Rob Gerig, Pastor Kelly Dufour, and currently Pastor Dan Clements.

Each of these leaders has brought unique strengths and timely vision for the seasons in which they had the privilege to lead, allowing Neighborhood Church to grow and thrive over the years. The church remains committed to the mission of Jesus to 'seek and save that which is lost' by investing in ministry here in Albany and around the world.
